Last Mile Fibre & Public WiFi Access Deployment (Coastal Cluster)

Client: ICT Authority – National Connectivity Program Location: Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi, Tana River Scope
  • Design and implementation of fibre-optic extensions from coastal metro rings to public institutions and access points
  • Trenching, ducting, and fibre routing to schools, health facilities, county offices, and community markets
  • Installation of joint boxes, wall-mount termination enclosures, and powered access cabinets
  • Setup of public Wi-Fi access points, routers, and signal repeaters in high-footfall areas

KPLC LMCP Program

KOSAP Solar Mini-Grids Programme (Kwale Cluster)

EXHENB Engineering is implementing solar mini-grid systems under the Kenya Off-Grid Solar Access Project (KOSAP), providing sustainable electricity to underserved communities in Kwale County. Client: Kenya Power and Lighting Company Capacity: 3 x 1.1MWp solar PV mini-grids (with storage & hybrid backup systems) Location: Kwale County Scope
  • Turnkey EPC services for remote solar mini-grid stations, designed for islanded operation
  • Installation of photovoltaic arrays, centralized lithium-ion battery banks, and synchronized diesel generators
  • Site civil works including transformer pads, fencing, control room structures, and localized distribution networks

  • Horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and micro-trenching for metro cable routes
  • Pulling and blowing of drop cables to commercial buildings, high-rises, and gated communities
  • Fibre splicing, FTTx configuration, and deployment of GPON systems
  • End-user testing, configuration, and customer support activation

National Fibre Optic Infrastructure & DWDM Infrastructure Layout
